HighLife Again is beautiful blend of African rhythms, salsa and jazz, which gives it that easy listening vibe, that elevate it into brilliance.
Ibitayo is undoubtedly the Queen of African Modern Highlife with indefatigable singing prowess full of life, jive, vibe and rhythms. She has a lot of Evergreen songs to her credit.
Her first single from the new album released in March 2008 titled “E no dey slumber” meaning God never slumbers, is causing a wave within the Nigerian gospel music industry. Set Him Off Music, a leading worldwide gospel music label and publishing outfit based in the United Kingdom, describes the single as “a breath of fresh air”, while the Gospel Vibes Magazine describes it as a “….triumph for modern day music.”
The 13 track album is a finely produced job, with an interesting and fresh blend of sounds that can be likened to “fruit juice”. Production credits: Wole Adesanya, J-Treash, Wole Oni, IDTones, Akinremi, Phat-E and Dele. All song mastered by Wole Oni.
